Requirements
Surrender Requirements: A picture of the bird(s) you are seeking to surrender must be provided prior to arrival, for us to be able to see if they look healthy and in good condition. Cage, food, other supplies and donations to care for the bird(s) are appreciated, but NOT refundable. An "Intake Agreement" form must also be completed in advance to obtain information about your bird.

* We do not under any circumstances, offer temporary or boarding services.
** Please do not bombard us with messages after birds are surrendered, we will gladly offer occasional updates regarding the well-being of the bird, but constant contact takes time away from our permanent resident birds and adoptees.
*** We strive to ensure every bird receives quality food, care, and love for life.

Foster Home Requirements: A foster home will be supplied with a suitable cage if needed. You must agree to use this cage and agree to feed the bird(s) a healthy diet. Open communication with Avian Oasis directors, regarding the health, pictures, and questions is required. We ask that you do not burn candles, smoke, use Teflon cookware, or use harsh chemicals near the birds for their safety. (All of these things can make birds sick due to their sensitive respiratory systems)

* Foster families do have the option to adopt the bird(s) if they choose, but a completed adoption application is required.

Adoption Requirements: Please do not reach out simply asking what our adoption fees are. TO ENSURE A GOOD LOVING HOME, we need to know some information about you and where you will be keeping the birds. The money is not our priority, but rather making sure the birds will be well taken care of. Screening and adoption forms must be completed. We also require and appreciate pictures of the cage you will use, room the bird will be kept in, and what food you will be using. Adopted birds are not to be used for breeding purposes.... there are already so many birds out there needing homes. Adoption fees are non-refundable, and if you decide you can no longer keep the bird(s) they must be returned to one of our directors, to ensure they do not go to a bad home.
We kindly ask the following for adopters:
That you are at least 21 years old
That you agree to not smoke, burn candles, wax melts, use harsh chemicals or cook with Teflon Cookware near the birds, as this can cause illness or death
If you rent your home, proof of landlord approval to have a bird must be provided
